It’s been a … FORT NIGHT on Flickr.
I’ve done a lot of responsible/adult type things in the past few months; everything from owning/fixing my car a few times to finally having my own health insurance and picking a dentist and doctor and getting my own place.
My stance on life is “everything in moderation.” Everything. Alcohol, food, exercise, sleep, and so on. With all these responsible things I’ve been doing, I thought that I should lean heavily in the “fuck it, this is awesome and I’m doing it because I’m a grown-ass man” direction.
I had an idea on Tuesday and as soon as it pooped (yes.) in my mind, I was in immediate 8-year-old “but i wanna do it NOWWWWW-uh” mode. I would say that I’m a pretty patient and calm guy, but I just couldn’t wait. I couldn’t wait until Thursday, I couldn’t wait 2 days, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I seriously drew up plans and diagrams on Subway napkins on how I was going to go about my project.
I got super excited waking up Thursday morning, knowing what would await me that evening. Work flew by and it was a good day. I got stuck in traffic for two hours which wouldn’t have mattered on any other day, but today it just bummed me out.
I toughed through the traffic and finally made it up to my apartment. I didn’t care that it was raining nor that the wind was blowing the rain sideways into my face. I made a bee line for my door. I kicked off my shoes, flinging them wherever. I dropped my backpack on the floor with a clunk.
… and I built a fort.

This was way back in the summer of 2006 at Alki Beach.
I think school was out and my roommates and I were just waiting out the rest of our days at the house we were renting for the year. Pretty sure the weather was just starting to get nicer, judging by how late into the evening we stayed for me to take this; it mustn’t have been that chilly.

This was taken in one of the Royal Parks in London, if I remember correctly. It was one of the sporadic sunny days that my classmates and I got to enjoy during our time abroad.
I think Ashley, Dorthya, Julia and Faith were with me; we had just got done wandering/shopping at the nearby shops and decided to take in some sights. And I decided to take pictures of random benches, because that’s how I roll.

I think the second day of being in London, my classmates and I went to a the Hard Rock Cafe for a small little ice breaker type of deal. It was there that we realized that the exchange rate was crazy go nuts. It was also the place that a few people came down with food poisoning of some sort. I avoided it, somehow. And as a trophy, I won this glass! After dropping like, 30 bucks or something. Oh the things you buy as a tourist.
These Have Spirit, Yes They Do on Flickr.
I really think these are weeds. If they’re not, then whoever planted this thing on UW’s greek row was random as all hell.
On my birthday, I was walking through greek row to my apartment. And there were beer cans, the occasional flip-flop in a yard, and just other random crap strewn about along the path. I stumbled upon this colorful thingie sat right near a tree. It was the only one I saw and it was oddly placed and not at all equidistant to any existing structure. Not only did I stop to take a few pictures, but to seriously wonder how the hell this thing came to be and thrive.
Then I realized I was on the ground, on greek row, and staring at some flowers. So I promptly left the area.
Finger-stache? on Flickr.
I was at Magnuson Park with Robert and Aira on a really nice, sunny day. And I had just gotten a new lens for my camera and wanted to take it for a spin.
They were chattin’ about something, possibly about moustaches or farts. Maybe even moustache-farts, who knows!
